I'm sitting installing OS 9.2.1 on chiquitabonita's 6 yr old iMac. I reckon I've little else to do so, might as well update. Today was days off was interrupted by a administrative/managerial meeting at my agency's HQ in East Haven. I genuinely really enjoy the company of my collegues and having near eveyone of us in the same room makes me happy I've ended up where I am. There were introductions to some new staff members, one being the git I talked about in my last entry. I discovered that I'm due another raise upon completing some out of date car documentation stuff and possibly another after the successful completion of a scheme that was brought up.
My agency owns some land that has acted as a attractive buffer to some of surrounding farmland and other neighbors, etc. A developer made an offer to purchase a large amount of it for a handsome price. The agency heads, being a bunch of touchy-feely folk, would normally refuse based on the grounds of what developers of this sort stand for. The opportunity however allows for us to gain some financial footing as we get remarkably little in the way of proper or deserved state funding. There are several wrinkles to be ironed out but it's an interesting measure which will create a great deal of excitement and positive momentum towards pay increases for entry-level positions (eliminates turnover for better paying posts), group home improvements and setting up a possible scholarship for field-interested study at the local state university. Time will tell and I'll undoubtedly keep you posted...
Other plans for this evening are making some CD's to present ElmCityDrunk for tomorrow evening's debate festivities at his place. I don't think my better half will be attending but, my prat younger sister and the rediscovered friend that I wrote about is keen on coming out. For the sake of poor ECD, we'll actually try and keep our 1am last call.
