Let's see....random weekend catch-up before I flit around and visit all of your individual pages.
I received a couple of unexpected, though welcome calls... The first was from my friend, Rob who recently moved to Maryland to persue his doctorate. He's one of the first friends I made when I moved to CT 15+ years ago. We don't see eye to eye on everything and let the friendship lapse for spells but ultimately, he's good to catch up with every once in a while.
The second was from my father. He's recovering from a second operation on his left rotator cuff. All's well so far but, the call was more to gleen more info on whether I can fly out to Iowa for Thanksgiving. I'd genuinely care to since it's been more two years since I've seen him, more than four since seeing my step-mother last. They also informed me that my brother-in-law is being deployed to Afganistan next year and he's rallying everyone to his house for Turkey Day dinner. Sounds good by me...
Work was quiet for the most part... A good friend of mine reported back after being out on worker's comp for the past few months. He had injured his left rotator cuff in a similar fashion to my dad. My dad had fucked himself up by falling on ice, my co-worker had done so while restraining a group home resident planning on attacking his housemate. Minor differences.
A quick moment of silence for a good friend gone grey... I have to e-mail het tomorrow and beg her permission to buy her another three months...really.

Goto Iowa. A vacation is a vacation by any means. Even if it means driving down the street to your friends house and camping out there for 4 days. Not that I ever did that or anything.....
