So...a proper update rather than yesterday's quickie. It was my second day off while still having to make appearances at work and around the town. There was some relative drama at the group home that required a gentle hand for smoothing over. I was also volunteered by my Mom to research Fairfield county soup kitchens contact info for my recently sentenced cousin and the 200 hours of community service he's required to perform. I'd recommend the one that I volunteer at but, when he fucks up, I don't want to be the go-to man whether for behavior correction or for bitching and moaning.
Tomorrow will my first day off that doesn't ask anything of me, I can just sleep late (hopefully), read in bed, lounge and maybe bike to the library. I've had a hankering to work on more vinyl importing and remastering so, the project of tomorrow may be Elvis Costello's first three albums. I have never owned copies of them on CD. Now might be the perfect time!
I finally broke down and called Dell about my DVD drive. It stopped recognizing any media about a week ago. In the interim, I've emailed back and forth w/ Dell techs about troubleshooting measures and the what-not. The last update I completed proving that I needed a new drive but, no forwarding info was given to me to respond to. So I resigned myself to spend an hour or more on hold while waiting for someone to get around to my call. Surprisingly, it was sorta quick, sorta painless and I have an expected call from a Dell tech who'll be making a house call to change out the drive for me. It'll mean no more watching DVD's on my PS2 being fed into the TV card of my 'puter. Why not watch the movies in my living room like any other person. Well, I don't know. I'm lazy like that...
It looks like 'go' for Flux tomorrow. I missed out on attending last week and feel bead about missing cool folk! Hopefully they shall all make appearances again and as many more locals we can pack in.
While you're still here, you should go drop a note to QU33RGRRRL. She's a recently inducted member of SGCT, one of my oldest friends and cool as fuck to boot! There are plans to dragging her out to events hopefully in the future, perhaps for Shag Frenzy.

The waterfall of sugary teeth decaying goodness was by far the best part.
