I'm updating briefly before heading out to FLux and catching up w/ some of my favorite SGCT'ers. 
Vacation so far has been pretty bland. Today I had to pop my head in at work to take a quick observed re-certification test that couldn't be rescheduled. I passed w/ flying colors but it's still something I would've rather taking while working, not while I'm specifically not working. 
A similar circumstance occurs again when I appear there again tomorrow afternoon... I have a brief job performance review that again, couldn't be rescheduled. These things usually occur twice a year and involve my immediate supervisor and another consultant-ish person within the agency. They say things like, "Boy, you're really good at your job! We'd be fucked if you weren't around to cover our asses." I say things like, "Yes, I'm well aware of how much I rock. Now, give me more money." They make consessions like giving me more vacation time to use though I can use none of it and so on...
Tomorrow's meeting might genuinely about job promotion. I've been taking on far more responsibilities of the job descriptions of positions higher than mine. The reason that the random duties haven't been covered is there's no one available to take care of them. Our group home will also be hiring another Residential Teacher (making it two including myself). Having an immediate subordinate futher points out there should be pay differences between posts. Anyhoo, we'll see how everything goes.
Tomorrow I'm going to Edgerton Park to catch that free performance of Richard III. Anyone still interested in attending? If so, please post and I can arrange for rides, carpooling, drinks and the what-not.
Friday is the trek up to Cambridge to visit Gumbercules at ManRay. I've been wanting to see him spin for a long time and sadly, that'll be my only chance for some time. Perhaps for on that later.
Well, LittleSister just showed up and is waiting for me to finish. So I'm going to do that, right now, once I finish typing this sentence, this period ending the whole thing here.
