I was flitting about, checking on the lives of others and thought I'd stop & give an official posting...
Today is a very poor spelling day. I'm having some sort of corollary block from lack of sleep, soreness of muscles used in yesterday's move and dehydration. My movement aware self tries to tell me that my posture in typing at a shitty particle board ready-to-assemble desk, in a chair clearly designed for something other than sitting doesn't help. No matter what, everything that you're reading I'm having to re-spell 20 seconds later. Hmm...
Today I was observed by one of my peers from within my agency. The different group homes have their own established culture of clients, staff members and those responsible for overseeing both. I am the person most often responsible who hosting/showing others what we do and how we do it. This is in part of previous management and training experience. It's also in part of being the most important and responsible person around and being able to pass the buck, as it was passed to me. I also didn't trust others to leave a sense of our house being accomplished in our job and our level of skills in teaching.
I basically did all the same things I'd normally go about doing but, required 500% more talking. The residents who I assisted at their work sites were left somewhat puzzled both at our new addition to the midst but, their chum who drove suddenly enjoyed to hear himself talk. They weren't too concerned about the disruption as long as it didn't interrupt the entire routine, especially the iced teas at the end.
So tomorrow the Ikea location which I live a mile or two away from opens offically. The move from yesterday was paid for in sweat & swearing as well as a new couch and new full-sized platform bed. I'm interested in possibly stopping by there, if not for the spectacle than for a duvet cover for a futon, bookshelves for my literary hoard which I haven't even moved here yet and something with which to house my very modest vinyl collection. Cross your fingers!
