More trainings and meetings... Well, they'll probably be air-conditioned. I actually don't have many problems w/ hot weather, within reason. I just two new window fans for our nest. You know, the ones where they reside inside the frame and have two twin fans blowing away... My usual strategy is house cooling w/ the mind-set of computer cooling - Equal numbers of intake and outtake fans exchanging a particular volume of air making a nice artificial breeze.
VAST was pretty great... They dipped into material that I wasn't as wild about but, still really worth checking out live, especially after enjoying their studio work. They employed on their first albums an outsourced orchestra for their string parts. That's what happened to those well-trained communist art collectives...having to work on film scores, one-off projects and the occaisional modern rock album.
M'girl and I how checking schedules for maybe seeing the new Harry Potter film this afternoon... By all accounts so far, it's really good! Having run a bookstore for a living, I've read all the books a number of times and can only imagine good things on screen as the series continues.
I'm also debating what to get myself for my B-Day... Money's somewhat tight but if there were ever a reason to splurge, this'd be it. THe major contenders are: 1) Cheap nylon string guitar I saw recently...My fingerstyle chops have been hurting and perhaps this minor purchase would inspire a renewed interest in more difficult sight-reading, as well. 2) A 2nd tattoo...It's been picked out for a while and being good friends w/ the artist, I'm should I'd get a good price on this larger piece. 3) ???...I'm unimaginitive when it comes to myself. Aces when planning for impressing or scoring points for loved ones but, blank out on what I'd have fun with, not need for necessities sake. Dunno.

Happy soon to be birthday. What did Elbereth do with her Bret Easton Ellis friends hehe? Did she talk to them or extricate herself? I'd kill someone for a job in a bookstore or library...in fact I just may have to, the way things are going.
