A Poetry Day entry to my two faithful listeners, glued hooey-blooey to their monitors...
Jacket Photograph
Shes wearing a thin-strapped,
low-cut something, her clavicle
rising like a nameless feature
in an angular, elegant landscape.
Its an artful shot, with a few suggestive
convoluted flowers she doesnt need;
fiftys in sight but cant faze her, shes
seen everything else and tasted it too,
and its left her that wry fraction of a smile
like the discreet nod of soloist to conductor,
like a brief bow to desire on every side.
