Numb, Dumb And Out Of It

i am a blithering fool
alone on the sunken couch
in the sunken living room
in the sunken soul

the drunken soul
staring at the vanishing point of consciousness
the threshold of nothingness
passion never feels this good

oblivion so oblivious

oh lord
oh language
oh love
oh shit

i feel like a new day is upon me
a half-baked new age
a retread renaissance

i look forward to the folly of the new millennium
the age of a new christ
a new savior
a new devil

i look forward
with eyes closed


So what else...Tomorrow I'm having to go into work a couple of hours early. I got the head's up that my group home is receiving a surprise inspection. It's usually nothing to worry about but, the schedule tomorrow is peppered w/ folks subsituting for the usual staff. The people booked during the appearance are all as sharp as a wet sack of mice. So, the total hours worked as of Friday @ 5pm will be 58!
