Yes, we'll have a Poetry day entry but that can wait for the moment. The past couple of days have been...good.
Wednesday was an exercise of travelling to visit those lately unvisited... The fair Elbereth and I travelled to visit the recouping King_Of_Skulls. We caught good coffee, nice shade & an accompanying breeze and the sight of many chicas passing to and fro. I was especially happy to see ol' KoS in roaring spirits and interesting in hanging out soon. Ah! My girl and I were able to give a quick phone shoutout to arachnequarius so, I guess there was another...
Soon thereafter, we drove down to Westport to visit w/ Elbereth's best friend from high school... Wendy has been living in the UK for easily the past 6-8 years and makes a rare one to two stateside appearances a year. Normally it's unusual for our dynamic duo to drop everything to hangout w/ someone but, she's a unusual and cool person.
What else...today I went back to work for the first day since Sunday. I really can't find anything to complain about in my new schedule - work 3.5 daysin a row, have off 3.5 days in a row. Of course this may change when something cool is announced for Saturday and I'm stuck at work until 10p, only due to return @ 9a the following morning for another 13hr day. We'll see and I'm sure, you'll hear.
Today I also accompanied a resident from my group home to visit his recovering father in a nursing home in Mystic. The Dad was in a near-fatal motorcycling accident near a across-the-country convention 9 months ago... He was drunk, swerving in and out of traffic and got himself & another car's passenger in a coma. I care little for people like him as my best friend lost his life to someone similar 7 yrs ago. So today was an interesting exercise of patience and understanding. The client I was with is moderately retarded. Particularly, it makes him nearly incapable of getting grips w/ a loved one's guilt, whether the abandonment in leaving his younger siblings in the care of relatives or the past history of similar accidents. The last he had lost his leg to a jersey barrier.
Anyhoo, tomorrow will be a good day... Beautiful weather, hopefully making plans w/ my amazing friend Lisa and getting a haircut.
I Like This
I like this.
I think I need this.
Walking through the redwoods with you
Hands interwoven, fingers entertwined
Harkens me back to our days past
When we tried this before.
Things now are so different
And so much better.
I am walking here with you, again
It is on my mind to kiss you
To join our lips as are our fingers
But not now, its not time yet.
I like this, how it is right now
With the light in your hair
And a smile on your lips;
As you listen to me read
And bait your interest with poetry.
Sweet lady, this is good
Even if there is no more, this is good.
Walking and smiling with you
For today or any day
Shall always be enough to make me happy.
