Huzzah for life's interruptions and the fruit therein! I woke this morning to find that SBC DSL subscribers in Connecticut (such as myself) were without service. I tried dialing up as well & nothing, as well. I called their tech support line and received a recorded message reporting of the regional problem and yes, they were already aware of it. So, rather than chew at the bit for the next several hours, I carried on w/ my day... I returned DVD's to my library, got lunch at Atticus w/ the ever lovely Elbereth & bought a couple pounds of coffee.
We arrived home to a working connection. I logged on w/o my router and had a brief brainstorm... I'd had problems w/ a number of programs working behind the Linksys. I'd reinstall something (such as ITunes) and it'd refuse to notice any connection behind the router. So with the DSL fired up, I reinstalled everything outside of the Linksys and eureka, everything's right as rain! Now WinAmp, ITunes and Mozilla Firbird are humming away and I'm playing w/ preferences for the rest of the afternoon.
Tonight is Rasputina! Suffice to say that I'll be reporting back in the near future. *sigh* I can't wait!
