My sources of busybodyness of the past 48 hours:
-Aiding my mother move furniture and overwhelming amounts of housework... My emphysema-ailing grandmother is moving in w/ my parents today. It's a move that everyone but my grandmother herself was expecting. She's landed herself in the hospital 3-4 x's within 6-8 months by undermedicating herself. Now she'll be in a separate section of their house w/ as much privacy or family involvement as her battle axe self would care.
-Dinner, drinking and no movie yesterday evening... After an atypical delay on my part in meeting up, my friend, Lisa and I dropped the plan for the film society's showing of Mystic River. We instead opted for pizza & beer, where we bumped into Nurse_Mengele and her always cool spiked boy. We crashed my former co-worker's coffeehouse for java and a quick game of catch-up. Much further down the street, an additional companion to our tipsy travels was hijacked. Thereafter we spent the next two and a half hours at Archie Moore's in Milford watching "rides home" being offered & two girls argue over how evenly matched their imaginary brawl would be. The image of the evening was the extent a pseduo-psycho girlfriend could keep a boyfriend's four years gone relationship alive for guilt purposes alone. Hmmm...
-Work on a beautiful, warm day... Bike rides through Yale, frisbee playing on New Haven's East Rock and my favorite recipe for Pasta Primavera. My joy was primarily found in dismantling a propane grill, getting it back in working condition, cleaning the fuck out of it and holding an 11am BBQ.
Note to self: Stop being afraid to bring the camera back out into the world... Just because you misplaced it & drove yourself insane trying to recover it doesn't mean you're doomed to repeat it. It just means you shouldn't leave fucking things in your laundry basket to be forgotten.

Sounds like a fun evening...I love those situations that take on an unexpected life of their own, and guide you along unexpected paths. they're usually the most memorable of times, and the most relaxed.
Thanks for commiserating about my shoulder. Sorry to hear you didn't have fun at last week's Flux; I'm angling toward going this week because I'm pretty certain I can't go next week. But as always, it'll be a game-time decision.
This weekend was great, wasn't it? Those evening stroll/bar crawls are the best; NH is good for that, Milford's good for that, SoNo is good for that, Stamford (occasionally) is good for that. Glad you had a good time.
Good luck with your grandmother (granted, you're not living there, but I'm sure you'll be called on to help out).
