Big Fish was excellent! I was secretly convinced that something was going to foul up the works again and I wasn't going to be able to catch it whatsoever. But, I triple checked the movie times, left way ahead of time and didn't bother worrying about getting snacks & treats - AlienPrincess and I made a drive-by to Wendy's and ate on the way. 
Tomorrow I have a couple of things in the works... I'm substituting at a group home I had worked in when I started in this agency. It taught me had to handle every worst-case scenario someone could throw at me! I moved on to my current assignment w/ the skills of a field medic & the happiness at never having to use them again.
The reasons are two-fold: 1) The gig I agreed to help out w/ just requires me to drive a resident around on their paper route. I can arm myself to the teeth w/ coffee & tunes beforehand. When I used to perform this function a few years ago, I listened to all of the Harry Potter book on CD (after reading them, naturally). 2) The garage the agency required I have my car checked by stated in a inter-office document that the heater in my car is in need of repair. It's bullshit for it's winter and I have heat. But, I'm willing to play along because this same garage is only two blocks away from said house. Dunno...we'll see. At the very least, these favors serve to remind to be thankful for where and with whom I work because it can always be worse and most often is.

hmmmm, interesting new job. you sound like a very skilled care giver - i bet the residents absolutely love you. it also sounds like a place that encourages vocational therapy of some kind, yes? cool.
i must admit, with great embarrassment, that i've not read, heard, or seen either harry potter or LOTR. i am a loser.
