I am home in Dallas.
It seems SGAZ is unable to mobilize in a timely fashion. I asked a few SGAZ people what was up, if they wanted to go out while I was there, get together, anything. I got no response at all!
Overall my trip was decent. My cousin (Airen) is awesome. Smartest kid I've ever seen (she's 8). We spent a lot of time rolling down grassey hills at museums. She's my buddy. The rest of my extended family is their usual FUCKED UP selves.
My first uncle, Dave. He's by far the oddest of the bunch. Since I've known him, and apparently before, he's always been a recluse. He never leaves the house except for work. Goes to bed at 8 PM, gets up at 6PM. On the dot. Perfectly on schedule. He doesn't drive to work, in fact he's afraid of cars. He rides his bike. 11 miles each way. Every day. His house is a disaster. I have pictures! He's got garbage bags sitting in corners, dirty utensils all over the kitchen, spider webs everywhere. He has pots and pans everywhere, all dirty and rotten. It's a nightmare.
My other uncle, Airen's father, is simply a genius. He is a cellist in the PIttsburgh symphony. Dispite being brilliant, he has a number of his own neurosises. He's afraid of microwaving food, because it might give him cancer. He must read every ingrediant of everything he eats, looking for carcinogens. He also seems to talk to himself.
We are all like this. We do not know how to behave in social situations. We are all majorly screwed up in the head. It's pretty crazy to see how similar I am to both of my uncles. At least I have some of my dad's side in me: the drunken buffoon. At least that gives me a chance at a normal life.
Oh. Super good news though. About twice a year, the Pittsburgh symphony tours other countries. In about a year, maybe a little over, they are going to tour Japan for 3 weeks or more. I will be going with them! I can't wait! It is an entire year away though.
Woh, this could be my longest waste of text ever. I wonder how many people read my journal? I guess I need to make some more friends on here.
