Phillums is done. But it was crazy good times. Philly is a bit smaller of a convention, coming smack between LA and San Diego, so it doesn't quite as much play. Dark Horse and Image didn't even show. The lack of dedicated writing panels was kind of irritating. I wish I had made it to the Silent Devil panel, and these cats here did speak to their creative processes.

I got a lot of leg work done Friday, then partied my ass off with Mr. Daniels and Mr. Cuervo before watching Wedding Crashers until 3AM and having water repeatedly spilled on me. Saturday started early, because I got out of bed to write at like 7:30. It was awesome having the SG booth there, and I got a chance to meet Apple, and Suri not only made me take many, many stickers, but she let me get a pick of Suri doing what Suri does best: looking fine.

There were a lot of great creators there, and I scored some great gear. The Black Bastard is probably the funniest comic I've read in a while, a nice blend of Deadpool, Dave Chappell, and Excel Saga humor, and the fact that Black Bastard is Matthew Mohammed's alter ego, and they have the same hair, is excellently cool.
I mentioned this in the boards, but I feel it should be mentioned here as well, but David Mack really impressed the hell out of me, and I feel the shameful shaming shame of not having been reading his books over the years. It was reassuring to him talk about he used to hit his friends, because I used to do that to, but I've developed some impulse control through the doubt still lingers.
The definate highlight for me were being able to talk with Marv Wolfman about writing, about Beast Machines, and getting a signed copy of one of his beast machines scripts. Beast Wars and Beast Machines are the reason the Transformers movie is coming out this summer because those series were so rich and well done. I also got a few peeps who may be interested in having me write for them, or in looking at my series and books.
The burlesque show that Zenoscope hosted, Once Upon a Tassle, was pretty swell, and Skeletor, yes SKELETOR, totally rocked the show with his "I Will be Your Villain" rendition. Now if only someone would coordinate some SG burlesque at the conventions, then all would be right with the world. The Hellcat Girls did a hell of a job though, and here a couple of them.

Saturday night was more of the same as Friday night, but by then my body had adjusted to the poisoning and I strode arrogantly through the hall in the final hours of the show.
All in all good show, I shall be back next year, unless, you know, I'm dead or something. Here's a pic of David Mack and Mike Oeming arm-wrestling. I tried to cajole them into telling me where they were partying, but no go.

D Mack is the shizzle! I loved his run on Dare Devil. I have all the Kabuki tpb's. His paintings make me want to paint. Then I remember I'm not as good at painting as he is.

It's all good! I used to watch Jem and the Holograms only because it came before the Inhumanoids bu then I ended up getting into it. And the music wasn't too bad.
