Long weekend. Left thursday night to go out to Ft. Hood for monthly drill training. we get out there after midnight and it's 40 degrees and raining. and the truck that was supposed to be carrying our shelters (2 man tents) went to the wrong place and they couldn't get a hold of it. So we slept out in it as best we could. Miiiiiiiserable. Woke up Friday morning in wet clothes that we'd have to wear until Sunday. Never got up above 45 degrees Friday. I ended up going to see some of our docs with a handful of Marines that were in the beginning stages of hypothermia. Really a bad set up. Nothing to be done about it though.
Other than the weather, which was a major issue, the training went really well. The platoon that I am partially in charge of is the guys who fire off rockets and use the demolitions equipment. We got to get a range where we could shoot off our SMAWs and AT4s. Both are very loud (the SMAW is supposedly the loudest hand held weapon in the US arsenal) and a lot of fun to shoot off.
these aren't ours, but this is an AT4 shoot
and a SMAW
anyway. that was my weekend. still a bit run down from the cold and wet, but it's warmed up today so that is good.
got the film back from first roll that I shot thru the new Holga. I like this one the best.
