It was nice to have a shortened week with the Memorial Day off. Still managed to work a little over 50 hours (and bill 62 sssshhhhhh)
a lot of running around yesterday, taking care of all the errands that I wasn't able to do during the week. It was nice just to be out on the bike, even though it was mostly in-town riding. TONS of other bikes on the road, owed mainly to the fact that the Republic of Texas Biker Rally is this weekend. I've tried to get downtown to check out the bikes, but I've largely missed it. It's mostly a cruiser/Harley event, so it's not really a big loss for me I suppose. I don't hate cruisers in particular (they're just not my style of bike...I can't do the feet forward, slow and low thing), but the crap I hear from a lot of cruiser (Harly in particular) riders about how they ride "real" bikes, especially when most of them were trailered down here....well...enh. anyhow. Today is fucking gorgeous, and I'm heading out on the ZRX in a couple hours down to meet up with some friends on the banks of the Comal River
just gonna get in an innertube and float down the river a spell. good times.
and my travel plans for October are all set. I fly out to New York on the 11th for the weekend, then off to Budapest that next Monday. I'll be in Europe for about a week and a half. I figure I'll spend a couple days in Budapest, but I also want to get down to Romania for at least 3-4 days. I just wish I had more time to spend traveling.
that's about it. here I'll leave you with this:
editing to add
the river was amazing. we got down there early enough to beat the crowds, so we went down the length of it twice. each trip takes almost 2 hours. got a little sunburned, but not too badly. the river was so high from the rains, that it was up to the top of its banks. the places that are normally rapids or a 4 foot dropoff were completely submerged. niiiice.
got home just in time. a tropical strength storm rolled in. very neet to watch....from indoors.
