back from West Virgnia.
the day we flew into Pittsuburgh there were snow flurries in the air. I feigned total confusion and total horror. had it been actually snowing the horror would have been real. I have bad luck driving in rain...I have no idea what I would do in the snow...probably crash into a bus full of nuns, small children, or nuclear explosives.
I got to meet a good number of Katy's friends. they all share a common trait of being mildly insane. mildly by my standards. I liked them. an intelligent wacky bunch.
that first night we ate good food and drank wine and attempted to watch Waking Life before heading out for drinks and then karaoke. I spared the crowd and did not do my impersonation of singing. Katy sang though. she did Lose Yourself by Eminem and had an entire bar of people bouncing and waving thier hands in the air...like they just didn't care.
there were several episodes of vomitting. none of them involved her or myself.
Friday night we went to Moundsville State Prison for a haunted tour thing. basically it was a short tour followed by...get this...permission to wander the grounds of a dilapidated old prison unsupervised.
I don't think anyone really got the feeling that the place was haunted...at least not in our group, but it was still fun to wander about. Katy and I geeked out and bought LED headlamps since there would be no light. Some of my photos taken with them came out neet and spooky.
I took the SLR too, but unfortunately overwound the film and fucked it all up.
besides light there was also NO FUCKING HEAT! and it was indeed freezing.
Morgantown, WV is a neet little town and I had a good time there, but they really need to import some heat or something.
spent more time in Morgantown just hanging out and having a good time. Katy took me to her favorite spots for eats.
I met her parents, whom seem nice enough. her father never chased me around with a shotgun and was, in fact, very pleasant and easy to talk to (I wonder if this is disturbing to Katy?
)
Now I am back in Austin.
it was 83 degrees today.
my money situation is bad. I'm putting off buying food until I know I can make rent. I figure I can probably scam enough leftovers tomorrow to tide me through a few days.
I miss Katy. she's really beautiful. even doing the most ordinary things.
I'm wondering if I'll ever get organized enough to get my life going somewhere in particular.
I wonder where it is that it's supposed to...or even where I want it...to go.

hope you're well.
remember how cold you thought it was at Prom last spring? if you visited SF right now, you'd be miserable. It's sunny and gorgeous out, but I'm having to wear long johns under my jeans.
