I've decided to start adding photos to my updates. Namely because, since I don't update much, it needs eye candy. Plus I'm not that interesting in words alone.
BTW the above was part of an art install at a gallery show I went to a few months back. Didn't understand it (the every growing question, is it crap, or am I just too dumb to get it?), but I appreciated the caffeine reference.
What's happened? Not much. Been working insane hours. Ever vague reference: Caller ID says hi on top of American Idol. You may get that eventually, even when you do.. it's boring.
Went to see a show in ORL on Saturday night. Butch Walker @ the Social. Tiny freaking club. Fuck I felt old. As I walked by to meet a friend for dinner, I heard kids in line talking about American Idol... I stood behind these cute girls who probably used fake ids to get in, talking about MySpace.com the whole time. Gotta love getting those "creepy old guy" looks!
Past that, Butch (aside from being obviously coked out), was pretty good. He's a good performer, if not pretty fucking.. uhm.. wierd. Mugged for kiddies with cameras (even grabbed a few people's cameras to do standard self-portrait shots), did the thing he's apparantly been doing on tour lately for his song "Best Thing That You Never Had" where he encourages people to call their EX's that broke their heart on the celly during the song, grabbed a few people's cell and sung into it a bit (then hung it up, sweet..)..
Good show. He's pop and not sure what he is, but even when his songs go a bit astray, you can't deny that he has one quality that most bands these days don't.. he's one hell of an entertainer.
Left me with the reminder that music is fun. I need to get a band back together .. just for fun. I'm probably past the time where I'd want to play out or anything, but even playing my guitar and singing by myself is a relief these days.
Anyhow -- hope anyone who bothers to read this is well. Fear the cold in Tampa Bay, and fear the profile pic after insane years. Love to the new cam.
If you go to my website (http://antiherocomics.com), click on "other projects" and scroll down to the bottom of the page. It should be there. Alas.
Btw, I dig the soda can photo. No reason why. It just looks nice hanging there. (Aren't I deep?)
