The weather report calls for mid-90s and high humidity... boys and girls, summer has hit Virginy...

Thank God for the Harley... for the coffee shop that opens early if the little red-haired dude and I are outside on our morning walk... for the little red-haired dude teaching me patience... that I have two healthy legs to walk with... for two arms to hold that mutt...

summer has hit Virginy...

Ya know, swap the "y" with an "a" and the meaning of this sentence changes...

Reminds me of a tale that I'm sure you don't wanna hear about a woman who went to the hospital one day complaing about having something growing out of her "Virginia" (that's what she said... Virginia)... apparently one lonely day she whacked it with a potato, and part of got left in there..

COMICKING got me thinking... (scary thought)

When I transferred my Junior year in High School from an all-boys to a public high school... well, I wasnt exactly welcome...
Next thing you know... I am nicknamed "FONZIE"... not meant to be flattering...
Today, I am (after losing 18 lbs) 6'1 and 210 lbs... and I ride a Harley that, yes boys and girls, I can tear...

Not being mechanically minded I tend to swoon with admiration over anyone who can put things back together so they still work....you notice i dont say take them apart, 'cos I can do that ok, but putting them back..a total mystery.
I've just re read that and it makes me seen like a total wuss, so I'd better clarify..I can make stuff, and build stuff, and do small repairs, but big rebuilding stuff....wow.

Yesterday was the Strawberry Faire at the local college... at first it was cool, all the crafts and such, then people could be heard complaining about the weather (cold and damp) even though it never really rained... I figure, if you wake up in the morning, then, no matter what the weather, it has to be a good morning...

The little red-haired dude hung in...

You have a very interesting outlook on life. I find it funny that people complaining about the weather bothers you. The weather is what people usually talk about/complain about when they have nothing better to say.. I ignore ignorant comments.

Never played in a band. Tried to learn trumbone in 4th grade, quit after 2 months of failure. In 8th grade tried to follow the family tradition of learning the piano, and while I can still play the opening to "The Entertainer" (from the movie The Sting) I gave that up after a year... Bagpipes are cool when played by people serious about playing them, otherwise they are effin noisy POS. Kilts are sexy, especially on women. Some men don't look right in them, and I reserve to right not to comment further on that subject.

BTW - While I have and will continue to state that "I hate my life," I know that my life is better than many others. It's my moniker, my catch phrase. I do hate portions of my life, I'm sure everybody does hate some portion of their own lives to some extent. Since starting my journals, I've come to view the phrase as therapeutic.

And dude, I wasn't insulting you in theta's journal. I was insulting god. Sorry for the confusion.

San Francisco always has some sort of festival. I think this week is the Mission Creek Music Fest and possibly the African American Film Fest.. or maybe the Gay and Lesbian film fest is still running....

I used to lay in the backseat and watch the moon and wondered why it would follow us. We never seemed to be able to drive far enough away from it....

Not much happening today... or for that matter this week...

Had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend... found a great place to camp and just chill with some very down to earth folk... soccer tournaments, horseshoes, volleyball, and of course sun worshipping when the rain was at bay... overall very nice. Next year, riding to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in D.C. on the bike with the...

We are one day away from Memorial Day... and I still wonder how many people realize what Monday is supposed to be representative of? Well, I always thought Memorial Day was the day we remembered those that (like you) fought and (not like you, thankfully) died protecting our freedoms, as well as remembering those others that came before us and are no longer here.

I want to thank you for your years of service, I mean no disrespect Sir.

I see it as a reflection of who we've lost and remembering them.

Actually, a shoot-out with Haitians sounds much more exciting to me... actually a shoot-out with anyone where I might actually survive disfigured rather than just dead sounds exciting. I hate this... have a thought... cant put it to words....

Was sitting in the rocking chair with a black-and-tan in hand listening to Cherry Popping Daddies... love it. Brian Setzer was next... love the horns and a kickin bass drum...

Everything turned to black and white... I was on stage and wearing a white on white tux... hat tilted slightly askew...

I never realized...

Hey thanks for the advice. I hope you are right. I don't know just hard. I mean losing Jen was hard enought, but at least she told me what happened. Anyways thanks for reading/commenting. Always helps me to share and get people's opinions.

I am in so much trouble...
Ok... let's think about this... 45 turning 46... and you have this infatuating situation with someone half your age...
Do you accept the obvious issue of difference and just let it go....
Or... do you just "go for it" and let circumstances work themselves out?

Consider that I have a 19 yr old daughter whom I love and respect,...

Does your daughter live with you? If she doesn't I say go for it! If she does I say go for it cautiously. I had one of the best relationships of my life with a guy who was 12 years older than me. It was amazing. We were compatible in so many ways. The way it ended is something to be considered. He totally didn't want to get married or even live together. That was a giant bummer for me and I decided to call it quits and move on. It was a good decision for me, but maybe not such a smooth move on his part. He still regrets not snapping me up when he had the chance. Oh well, live and learn. I like to do both things and you have to take some action to live and to learn!! Move forward, soldier!

Oh yeah and I wish my cat loved me enough to make a bird kill for me. Actually he tries, but I think the problem here is that he's always been more of an inside cat than outside, so his predatory skills may be a bit rusty. I mean dont get me wrong, I love animals and shit, but its part oflife for animals to kill other animals.
