So it's the new year, and I've started my new classes and I'm back in my big, empty apartment. The good news is that I went to Disneyland yesterday and had a bunch of fun--far too much for just one man The bad news is that I'm right back at it again, both working hard and hardly working. I've never been very good at filling...

Kick some ass in the New Year man. You rule.
Well I managed to get through all of my classes alright, despite worries to the contrary especially in the class I bombed the first midterm and forgot to do my project in (got a B+; I guess I aced the final). Life in San Diego has been nice, though I am somewhat looking forward to being back in my apartment and with some personal space....

Congrats on the grade! That's awesome. I'm glad San Diego's treating you well. Take it easy. Peace.

And I think not doing something because I'm not an Everest experience hiker / mountaineer is fucking stupid.
Given your logic I should just sit on my ass and do nothing, ever, right?
I mean why the heck would I ever go paintballing if I'm not a master and a Pro. Why ever try anything new?
Oh, wait, ok, so you're saying start small then go big right? Hmmm, so yeah cool. I'll just start doing small camping trips and hikes, locally right? Get some experience and then maybe go out of state and you know work my way up? Yeah, awesome. Brilliant.
Sooooo what about the people that go through basic training and boot camp and then get shipped off and within months are seeing combat?
Screw all that. I'm 22 and I'm doing this danger be there as it will be. If you think I'm going into this all gungho and not one bit scared, you're wrong, very very very wrong. I'm scared out of my mind of the unknown and the possibility of death but you know what? I live once. I don't want to tell the children I may have in 10 years or so that when daddy was 22 he was still working at Subway, was a nobody and never did jack. No, sorry, not good enough for me.
I may fail. I may change my mind 2 days into this but you know what? I'm going to start if nothing else.

For whatever reason I was looking back through my blog posts
and I noticed that it's been more than two years since I tried and succeeded to come back to UCSB....

I love your story. Luck is a wonderful thing.
And re: your comment--funny, because what I'm doing is fairly closely related to insurance. We'll see how it goes.

'Fess up. Who's your econ prof?
The true week of finals begins tommorow, I've been spending today meditating in quiet contemplation. I use this meditiation time to sort all of the knowledged I've gathered over the past 10 weeks so that I can better access it when it comes time to put pen to paper. It has worked many times for me before and has turned my mind into a steel...a...

My dad's an accountant and he makes really good money. Thank goodness. Where are you going to school?

We're all counting on you. Don't fuck up!
So I really hate drinking, but I really like being drunk. Is there some kind of solution for this? Tasteless alcohol additive? Don't talk to me about beer or those fruity drinks, what a load of crap those are; if I have to put up with booze I prefer to drink it in as concentrated a form as possible. Unfortunately the more often I drink...

Thank you!!!!
and I totally know how you feel about drinking ... that's why I stick with disgustingly fruity (which you obviously dislike, haha) wine, but in large quantities. When people see you with a glass of wine they think you're classy, but little do they know it's your 7th glass
But most of the time I just don't drink at all.

I'd have to say wine is a pretty good way to get buzzed and it's not all that disgusting. I think the more expensive the wine is, the grosser it is. At least that's how it is over here. lol
Maybe you could take up meditation. I think that a lot of people who meditate probably don't drink.

I'm starting to get tired of staring at myself every time I'm on here. I think it's nigh time I changed back.
necia:
Ooooh, I like that interpretation.
emotedcreations:
Yeah, that freaks me out. I don't take myself quite as seriously.

Rather than working on my project, which I haven't been working on all day, I did a search of myself on the boards. It's funny how many dumb things I've had to say over the years. Plus, sometimes I totally crack me up. Seriously though, I think it's time to get busy playing a computer game instead of working on my project which is due...

Aww... I am going to help you.
This website has a funny way of reminding me how not-smart I am. I don't mean that I think I'm dumb, because I'm not. I keep up with some pretty sharp cats in actual conversation, and catch onto things quick. But...so many extremely smart people around here; it's staggering some days.

I have at least two nights with nightmares a week, usually more. It sucks!

Some of my best memories have happened around the holidays too! Though last year I didn't have the best of Christmases.
I don't think I brought it up on here, so I may as well. My family got a new dog (Molly, our old dog, died a few months back). So I figure it's time to share a picture. The new one, Sophie, is very sweet, was terribly frightened of me when we first met but has bonded very well with our family. I'm looking forward...

Oh she's cute... my sympathies and congratulations. My family just went through the same thing. It's never very fun. My new dog, Tucker, is a complete dork just like me, so it makes up for it a little bit. peace my friend...
reemooooo:
have you tried the toolset on NWN 2? Do you need to know HTML in order to make things run properly, like the first NWN?
Well, I managed to ace my second Econ midterm after bombing the first one. I can't describe how good I feel because of it. If I can repeat it on the final I might even pull off a decent grade in the class.

Same here. I've had an application pending with the local group for a while now. Meh.
Anyway, happy new year
