Such a new look. It's hard to believe that the last time I was here was three years ago. Huh. Oddly, despite the glitz, there are still a lot of cobwebs and...vacancies, I guess, in this particular corner of digital SG-ness. Interesting.

pyromethious:
the new site feels oddly quiet overall, but I think it's because things are harder to do. Well, in terms of seeing more than say five things on a page that is.

My short story "Sitting in an Unmarked Room" has been published at MicroHorror.com. Woot!

Been busy. School started up again, and I've been working on producing/directing my web series. I've also been writing quite a bit. Yeah. How've you all been?
radiofrank:
Yeah, scalp massages are pretty awesome. biggrin

That's an excellent story - lots of unanswered questions that will keep me up at night!

So, I'm producing a web series. Sigh Morosely.

"A girl, convinced that nothing interesting ever happens to her, takes a job at a mysterious coffee shop, only to become unwittingly involved with vampires, aliens, werewolves, necromancers, and ninjas."

...and now I see why you haven't been around much, haha. I look forward to seeing the finished product.

I can't say that you've missed too much around here, but you probably already knew that. wink
pyromethious:
yeah but back then I didn't 'need' one either :-p

Poetry time:

The thing
To touch the young in places three-fold.
To know,
To hold,
To grasp
To offer a singular peace with the tip of the tongue gently applied to the fairest tip of the most erect nipple.

Yearn.

Well done, good sir. smile

Hope that you're well.

So, on top of everything else (meaning school and two novels), my girlfriend, some friends and I have created an art collective to collaborate on web art/comics, performance art, fine art, video art, and films (short and feature). Wooo.

No, I don't sleep. Why do you ask?

Anyway, I give to you The Dead Kitten Collective (or the place holder for our website). Whatever. biggrin
radiofrank:
Thanks; I had a feeling that you might like it.

I look forward to seeing what your collective creates! Should be most interesting.

How's the art collective going?

So last week, I finished the initial draft of my second novel. Thus, added to the fact that I found the complete disks containing my first novel about a month ago, I started the Summer with nothing and am finishing it with two novels.

Not bad, I think. biggrin

I'm also developing a new project that we're keeping on the QT. Added to two novels, and...

Ya know, since you have all this motivation and free time, I still have one more 3 page BS'er to get done biggrin

To be honest, my head is absolutely spinning.

This morning's find: Disks containing working copies of my first novel, thought lost for over 10 yrs. Word count: 179400.

Holy fucking crap!
pyromethious:
Time to make NEW copies of said disks!!!
radiofrank:
Thank you very much for your kind words!

It turned out very well, and I will post some pictures in the not too distant future.

...so, when are you going to come up for one of these things? wink

Really short update from Liber Dementia:

Having seen the world through so many eyes, it took Karen only a moment to recognize the danger she was in. Psychic since early childhood, she had trained herself not to invade the thoughts, minds, worlds of others. Still, over the years, shed found herself behind so many different eyesusually before she could catch herselfthat she had learned...

Here's what my First email from the professor started with biggrin

Hi Nathan,

I must say it is refreshing to have wk1 submitted in such excellent order..it has been
years. Please let me explain. most of students that take this class don't have the pre-
request to take this course...sure they have taking prev. pgm class...but for some
reason...they show me no knowledge of pgm methodologies at all..which this course
requires.

I have had to resort to the kind of assignments you see in syllabus to make up for the
lack of understanding of the simplest of writing code to display a message.

not all students are as described..but, enough to warrent my approach with class.

Just returned to the house after the five-ish day mandatory evacuation. The place is fine, just a little smokey and ashy. Really only going to take minimal cleaning.

The fire, however, burned to about 200 feet from the house.

Sheesh.
pyromethious:
Well...time to build that mote biggrin
pyromethious:
did it do tricks in the air like summer saults too?

The last several weeks have been so incredibly busy. Sheesh. Subsequently, this entry is merely an attempt at moving on form the last one. Not much else.

Still, if you're interested, I've started a little High Fantasy serial that takes place in my D&D campaign world--I started writing it in order to prepare for running a campaign over the summer. The main characters are characters...

Something a little different...a little sword and sorcery. ARRR!!!

He shifted.

The bitter drink in his hand, the metal goblet cold against his over-hot skin, sloshed forlorn droplets to the battered, grime-covered stone floor. The runes that had so artfully been etched into that floor centuries ago, once glowing with a power so far beyond comprehension as to be almost laughable, had long since been worn...

Thank you for the little bit of Proust, it was a good introduction because I'm afraid I have never read any Proust at all yet but now I am inspired to!
