richard buckner was great. in a wave of constant sound, he sweated and sang, eyes closed shut to keep out the sight of the crowd. (a true artist, he is). it is obvious that he makes music because he has to. before showtime i couldn't believe, or i could, how awkward he was. very quiet. very focused. i got a front row seat and nearly cried because it has been so long since i have been a normal person with the personal freedom to go to a music show. for this, i must thank my husband for putting up with my foul mood, even though i was sick. the whole spontaneous thing was his idea (a music show on an island..we had to board a boat to get there). so while i was enjoying a great show, he stayed in a nearby hotel, beerless, with our son, a devil of the worst kind (since he refused to take his nap that day). what a saint! thank you!
