out of one
loop
this loop
around my neck.
it was like that
in the school yard.
they were using
my words and
my voice
and
i
didn't
like it.
what is it that brings them to?
what world is more fasinating,
what face is a better face to wear?
i shrunk back to the stench of the pond.
i fell out of that world
and landed in a reed or ripple
i sat alone
long and hard.
in the end
the place i wanted
to belong
most
was away from them
and into my own heart.
and so it goes.
i sit by the window
staring at
the shapes the
branches make
while my son eats.
i allow myself
that short travel
away from him,
continuing.

I used to use the same line seperations when I was a more active writer in high school and I always used to catch shit for it-good to see someone else does too!!!
I co-slept with my son until he was almost 3 months old and then started gradually breaking him into his own bed-via a cradle in my room, and while there is hardly a more beautiful thing than waking up to a smiling babe, I needed some goddamn sleep!!!!!!
I imagine you have but if you have not read mamaphonic-ayun is in there
