Greetings you avatars of society,
Being that I haven't had the chance to talk to many of you directly as of late, I am sure the rumor didn't get out. I am moving in a week and a half. Don't worry, it isn't that exciting or anything. I am only moving about 5 miles at most from where I live right now.
Gas prices being what they are, as well as food prices, and the fact that both my jobs are only part time, with a lack of desire to really change that currently, I have to move. Rent is simply too much to be paying on my own. I will be moving to a town house of sorts with my younger brother (only brother) a two mutual friends of ours. Don't worry, it is a four bedroom.
The new location leaves much to be desired, but it is only a 6 month lease, so I am sure we won't have to kill too many neighbors. The move is giving me a chance to clear out much of the clutter that has been building up for the last 28 years. Something that I have been trying to do for years, but made a major step in the right direction today. My magazine collection from the last 16 years went away today. That was over 200lbs of dead weight. There is a lot more I am seeking to relief myself of. So you know how I will be spending the next week and a half.
What does this mean for my art? Well, it means a lot less stress on my financially, which means less stress over all. That means I will be able to finally return to my drawing which I have been wanting all year. And being that the year is nearly half over already, it is high time I get of my ass and play catch up.
In other topics: May is the month for movies.
I mean really, look at what we have to look forward to; Iron Man, Speed Racer, the next Narnia, and last but most anticipated Indiana Jones 4!!! And as if that all isn't enough to excite you, Batman is in June. Kick ass I say!
Speaking of movies, I saw Forbidden Kingdom Saturday night. I went in with no expectations, knowing full well that the trailers seems to be hiding something. Namely the fact that a white guy is the main character!! Getting past this, and the very 80's campy feel of the film, I thought it was great. It is both funny and action packed. Not your regular expectations of a film with Jackie Chan though, it is a little more serious then his usual works, but only a little.
Well thats all for now. Should I suddenly drop off the grid for a week or two, it is simply the transition during the move, so no worries.
