A Fair Weekend
Friday night, Brenda returned to her home with her things safely. I met her father. It was awkward but it was brief and he seemed like an okay guy. After he left, katfireblade arrived and while the family went to Ikea she packed up her things to head out on the next leg of her lifes journey. All of us felt a mix of sadness that she had to go, especially since she was leaving the state, but also relieved to have one less person in the house. I hate to say it but the mood of the household has been a ton less tense since she left.
Saturday wyspurr and Brenda volunteered to watch Eris for Ocean and Stitch. Id wanted to go see Katie performing at the Redlight Caf but under the circumstances I just couldnt get a ride. I did spend a bunch of my piggy bank money at Blockbuster, though, on pre-viewed movies (The Jacket, Robots, and Charlie And The Chocolate Factory) and pre-played PS2 games (Tekken 4 and The Punisher, the latter Ive been playing a lot of). So I was at least entertained while stuck at home.
Sunday started out with wyspurr, Brenda, the kids, and I going to church. Yes, church. Something Ive not done in over ten years. Granted it wasnt a strictly Christian church. It was The First Existentialist Congregation of Atlanta. Im really glad we went, though I felt horribly awkward since the congregation was comprised almost entirely of people a generation or two older than ourselves. They were pretty open-minded, though, and fairly laid back. Im looking forward to going again next Sunday. Im even thinking of requesting to be off work all future Sundays so we can make a weekly family outing of it.
Today was a strange day at work. It was really slow most of the time so time passed slowly and there was an unusually high concentration of aggravating customers. I even got into an argument on the phone with some guy from TBS who was being an ass. I was happy to be cut loose a couple hours early.
This evening I took Brenda out to the Caribou Coffee just down the street. Shes been cooped up in the apartment too much just like me. I really want to start getting out and doing more stuff with both wyspurr and Brenda.
