also, i think i am getting a cold. it may be working with kids, or it may be being exposed to ridiculous numbers of people with questionable hygiene at dragoncon. really-- i'm a germaphobe and when i'd look at some people's costumes, all i could think of was how they went to the bathroom and whether they washed up properly.
You know, I don't miss being a kid much. The carefree part was cool, but I find freedom to choose what to do to be about equal to that. I miss having a child's imagination though, that ability to completely go off into whimsical worlds and construct complex places and things. I think the best creative people never lose that. Maybe if I'm lucky, I'll find it.

On Saturday night, the woman that was talking a lot about FSU. Well, her name was PJ. After y'all left, I decided to hang out with her and talk with her. She made passing reference to her boyfriend, who was out in Germany, but wanted to know if I was coming to root for FSU. I said that I would. My instincts were telling me that she loves the attention that she gets from all of the guys and that she craves it. Also, my instincts were telling me that she is a cock tease. That if I was to "pursue" her or show some non-drunkenness interest in her, she would not know what to do. And my instincts were correct. Granted, she was smokin" in her bikini top and blue jeans, but she was huggin' and kissin' on most of the locals. When she was alerted to my presence, she reaction was of shock. As the night progressed, she became more relaxed with the fact that I was there. Yet, she was checking her cell phone for text messages from her boyfriend, and gushed when she got one. Now, I know that I was a fool to stay there until 11:30 pm, but I did not look like a loser and dash out of there when the girl I was chasing had "rebuffed" me. So, I should listen to my instincts and let it go.

i totally took it as an omen that yesterday was going to be salvador dali surreal but the rest of the day turned out to be pretty normal.
i am finally off tomorrow after working 12 days in a row.
