Well folks, it's official.
I have now been clinically diagnosed as having attention deficit disorder.
Probably doesn't surprise anyone who knows me, but I learned a lot about ADD that I didn't know before.
Doctor's used to think that you grew out of it, well modern research shows if you had it ever you've got it for the rest of your life.
Yup it's permanent, no cure, no treatment, no councelling program, nothing.
Sure they have highly addictive drugs you can take to alleviate some of the symptoms, but those also cause paranoia and anxiety, things I already have enough of in my day to day.
Oh, remember when they called it either ADD or ADHD, adding the Hyperactive to the mix.
Well it's really all ADD now, but it effects five or so different areas of mental stability.
One of which causes the Hyperactivity commonly associated with this .... condition.
I don't have much of that.
I'm also fairly good at interacting with others on a one to one basis.
Nope, the things my ADD most heavily influences are memory, and motivation.
I've always known that I don't remember names and dates and numbers very well.
I often forget what I was planning on doing a moment earlier as well.
Sometimes I even talk like Porkey Pig.
Not from stuttering per-se, but because I can't find the words I'm looking for.
I also could try for the world record on procrastination.
However I just thought that all meant I was lazy.
Oh I felt guilty for being so lazy, and tried so many times and ways to get around that.
You know be more productive, remember birthdays and stuff.
Now I know why I never could.
Turns out I'm built that way.
So here we have the slightly more aware Dodger.
Also known as Missed Opportunity Man.
With forehead slapping action.
"What's the next step?", you might say.
Well as long as I can keep the pessimism at bay.
I'll try learning to accept and live with who I be.
Perhaps I can develope some healthy copeing skills while I'm at it.
Good luck to me.
And good luck to all you folks in the new year.
May it turn out better than you expected.

I'll keep you posted on SG gathering plans! I have a 3 storey house, with a video game/movie pile in the basement to distract you and allow you to hide for awhile if the crowd gathering gets overwhelming.
