the last couple of days have been ok. i'm working on getting over this cold at least, but not much else i guess. went to the show at the rave last night. the main band that i wanted to see was Reggie and The Full Effect, but i ended up listening to their entire set from outside while waiting for the guy who had our tickets to show up. it was fucking rediculous though that their set wasn't even 20 minutes. they've been around much longer and put out much more quality material than My Chemical Buttdance, and there's no reason that a show starting at 7:00 with only three bands should have any of them play for less that half an hour regardless of who they are. oh well, at least they played "raining blood". Alkaline Trio was really good. The first two times i'd seen them were kinda dissapointing, the first because it sounded like shit and the second because people are too stupid to realize that club venue type crowd participation simply doesn't work at an outdoor festival where bleachers are involved. i had a little steam to work off from being pissed about the Reggie thing. there was no pit, but i decided to see how far i could get in the push for the stage. i hadn't really done that it probably close to two years now and it felt pretty good, i needed that (the last time i can remember off the top of my head doing that was Poison The Well, Murder By Death, The Bled, and The Kinison which i went to on Valentine's Day two years ago....alone). is it bad that i took pleasure in being a part of what was making dozens of 16 year old girls who'd never been in a crowd like that before miserable?
my friend Zhana any myself left at that point but it was a really nice night so we just hung out on the steps leading into the place and shot the proverbial shit for a while. ran into ectasia and analog_robot on their way out. mr. robot was on his way to hang out by the buses and be a gushing fanboy all over James Dewees (another contribution).
other than that, i'm struggling to think of anything else to say. make 'em say uggghhhh, uggghhhh, nana nana, nana nana....sorry.

I'd be pissed if the band I went to go see did a 20 minute set. It takes like..20 minutes to get into the groove of things.. And then the party starts.
But I guess that's why there are opening bands, so you're all ready when the main one comes on..
Still, though, 20 minutes..pfff..Even for an opening one, that's too short.
I'm not sure if it's bad taking pleasure in that.. I mean, it makes me miserable when people try to push me out of the way and give me a hard time during a show, I'd like to just enjoy it, and have a good view. I suppose as long you didn't break any of their noses or fingernails, they dealt with it.
