It's sunny and lovely out today. That used to be enough to make me happy.
I had a weird moment this morning while reading the New York Times. There was an article on how seals were overrunning this San Diego beach. The article ended with a quote from a tourist watching the seals:
"Look at that!" said Gina Montefusco, a visitor from Washington, D.C. "This is just unique. I'm not sure I have ever seen wildlife actually in the wild, and never this close."

I'd guess a lot of people are living pretty animal-exclusive existences nowadays. Sadly, I believe many people are not "seeing wildlife in the wild" anymore, since they see Chemlawn-manicured golf-greens-as-nature everywhere around them.

Problem is when I'm not looking... I'm really NOT LOKKING and totally oblivious. I go through these phases where I get really insecure and just can't be bothered.
