Why is it I start so many journal entries complaining that im tired ? , it seems
these days that my limbs don't seem to want to start moving properly in the
morning unless my blood is pumped full of caffeine . I usually get more than
enough sleep each night , so why do I feel like im weighted down all the time
and everything's an effort . Im thinking of going completely cold turkey off all
caffeine related things , no more red bull , no more coffee ..and try and
replace them with some fruit type things and some more exercise . Im thinking
that might help anyway , well at least until I can change my job anyway.
Whenever I tell people that I don't plan on staying here very long , they all
say 'thats what everybody says , you'll still be here in 10 years' . I refuse to
get ' comfortably numb' like that , I see it as im treading water at the moment
and if I don't try and swim to the safety of the shore sooner than later , I
will get tired and end up drowning . There's a scary face of the future sitting
next to me , someone who has been doing this same bottom of the ladder job for 10 years . The thing that really scares me though is she says she doesn't want to leave the country anymore ..done with travelling at the age of 33 . That's just something I don't comprehend , so if I ever start to feel like im getting comfortable i'll have to look to my right at poor Tracey and think 'that's what you'll become'. I know i've got a brain in there that if I blow the cobwebs off , can be half decent.
But everybody has the same problems as me don't they and I know I have spoken about this many times before , so I don't suppose this makes particularly interesting reading.
Anyway lets stop whining shall we
. Im really into my films at the moment and i've got a few to enthuse about . 'Capturing The Friedman's' was a fascinating documentary type thing I saw the other day , you get to see a family basically disintegrate through home videos , interviews etc. when the father and one of the sons are convicted of child abuse offences. They all end up contradicting each other and its quite unsettling to watch . My favourite scene -one of the sons is a clown and is being interviewed in a lift going up to a children's party , he's just been told that his dad has been arrested for such a horrible thing ..lift doors open and he leaps out Krusty the clown style .."hey hey".
'Kill Bill Volume 1 ', me and Kate reacquainted ourselves with this last night . I remembered it being cool , but not that cool . Granted the plot isn't anything special but Tarantino is nothing short of a visually astounding storyteller , I just love how he sucks you into this comic book world . There is just no way that volume 2 is going to suck , its not possible . Friday night .. bring it on
I also got one of my favourite movies on DVD yesterday , 'The King Of Comedy' .
A real underrated gem , the forgotten DeNiro / Scorsese collaboration . It says
allot about the lengths some people go to get on TV . If I say anymore it'll
spoil it , just if you haven't seen it ..do.
Im also making it my mission to try and see as many films I wouldn't usually see
, there's some really cool independent films about . I may have to travel a bit
to see them but there usually allot more rewarding . So can anyone tell me where
I can see the film 'Switchblade Romance'?.. i'd be very happy. its supposed to be out this week but im not seeing it listed anywhere.
So basically not much is happening in the world of Barry , so im disappearing
into the film one instead.
Im out tomorrow to see the Lichenstien exhibition and have Kill Bill
on Friday ..and I shall probably be going out at the weekend now as well. I was
supposed to be getting a visitor at the weekend but due to lack of funds that
sadly doesn't look like its going to be happening anymore . I shall need
entertaining at the weekend now ,so i'll most likely be coming and joining the drinking masses again.
Anyway I suppose I should get on with some work now as I have been writing this for almost an hour now so I shall shut up now . Bye folks *waves*
