It is funny how music can leave such an impression on you. To remind you of a place or a person or an event.
While digging through my cd's yesterday to find something to listen to on my commute to work I found an old mix of drum & bass my friend made for me. I stuck it in my cd player and music started blaring in my ears. Suddenly scenes of 9/11 started playing across my memory.
I remember listening to that cd while leaving SF on 9/11, seeing one women sitting across from me on the train start to shake her head back and forth. I had taken the headphones out of my ears to hear what she was saying and this women was moaning about how her friends were on that plane.
This cd now will forever remind me of this event; the music seems to fit perfectly with the chaos that was going on in our country that morning. I was surprised that one little song could draw up such strong memories of something.
Thankfully, it is still a great cd.
