So I have this habit of not writing stuff for weeks at a time. I tend to blame this on not doing much of interest, but I can't deny laziness is involved. So let's see what we come up with...
My traditionally wacky sleeping schedule seems to have reverted to the norm and my interest in the current MMOs has waned. I haven't logged into AoC in days. I only log into WoW to do the daily bombing quests, and sign up to the occasional guild raid if I think I might bother to show up; though I may get the next expansion out of curiosity. I also downloaded the SWG free trial. I still hate the NGE, which is why I've spent most of the time ingame flying TIE fighters and blasting rebel scum. Oh, and after five years they still haven't fixed the stuttering vehicle bug.
Frelling NGE. I used to be a master droid engineer and a very capable stormtrooper (and scout trooper once the armour came out) at the same time, dammit. You could be any combination of any profession as long as you had enough skill points to spare, and now you have to choose a frelling class like all the other MMOs. I can't wait for the SWGEmu. I miss standing outside Coronet spaceport. The skyscrapers, the ships flying overhead, the spiral cloud formations drifting across an orange sky... and people. It used to be so busy. Now it's a ghost town, and my old guild city is waiting to be torn down...
Dammit, nostalgia can be a killer. Rant over!
I've done enough gardening to prove, once and for all, that the fortnightly green bin collection just won't cut it. I'm probably going to keep hacking stuff down myself, because I enjoy using the axe and sword, but at some point I'm just going to have to hire gardeners to clear it all out and fix it up good.
When a guy agrees to buy something for a certain price, and later decides the price is too high, it's common sense to stop trying to sell stuff to that guy, right? Screw that guy.
Obsessively watching Blood+ over and over. Sure, it's an alternate version of Blood: the Last Vampire, but it's a good one. Almost looking forward to the live action movie. And other movies, but nothing specific comes to mind at the moment. I do recall that they remade another classic, though. War of the Worlds was a pointless effects-fest, and I fear The Day The Earth Stood Still will be too. Perhaps watching The Clone Wars reinforces this opinion. Yes, the shiny pictures were good enough to be seen on the big screen. The movie itself was not.
What else... the receding hairline I could live with, but now I think I'm getting a bald spot at the back. Except it's not a spot so much as a line, as if the hairdresser frelled up. I think it's actually where the parting in my hair ends up; it goes back and around, and that's where it ends. I've been contemplating wearing a hat, but in the end I think (or hope) that I don't give enough of a damn.
Been playing Dawn of War: Soulstorm since the extended Dawn of War 2 trailer came out. I never bothered to finish a campaign on it when I bought it, since it felt like more of the same, except the narrator guy was even more over-the-top than last time. Looks like the new one will have an actual story like the original, which hopefully means no narration. Also, it looks like they've taken some of the better elements from the old Chaos Gate and incorporated it into the new game...
Hm. Looks like, subject-wise, I've come full circle. And nothing else comes to mind, so I'll leave it there.
