This is expanding on my previous post. So I've been working at RAF Northolt the last couple of days working on a couple of private jets and my company put us up in the Hilton in Ealing.
Rewind 6 years and I was living on RAF Northolt as a Sgt in the British army and 2 years later after I was posted I was living in Ealing with my then girlfriend.
The camp hasn't changed a bit so driving around has been a little bit like stepping back in time. Ealing seems to have had a lot of money put into it to improve the town centre but it's still a familiar place to walk around and truth be known I do miss living here.
I have found myself washed over with memories from when I lived here. Good and bad. I suppose it's making feel like I need to put down some roots. I've done so much moving around that nowhere feels like home anymore. If I'd made better decisions in my life things might be different but that's hindsight for you. I guess all any of us can do is make the best choices for ourselves at the time and use the experience we've gained not to make the same mistakes.
It has been an interesting trip so far
