Jack had again refused to watch the news and write his report, on the
grounds that the local station his teacher assigned had yet to report
on anything either. But this morning, instead of the normal
admonitions, his mother was explaining that he wasn't going to school
today, and he wasn't coming home tonight or even tomorrow night. This
hardly seemed fair.
