Ahhh, the "joys" of holidays with the family. Only two things are able to make this time bearable. 1) I have come equipped with hours of music and movies to sequester myself away from everyone. 2) My laptop and wireless internet.
That's right, kids and kittens, I have returned to my grandmother's house in Southwest Kansas for the annual holiday gathering that most people call Christmas, but that I like to refer to as Bitchmas, as I will be listening to my family members bitch about lack of money, lack of time, my lack of hair, my lack of Christian values, and many, many more of their greatest hits. Oh well, at least after tomorrow it will leave me with $9000 in my pocket, so I grin and bear it.
I want to have a passionate love affair with Amanda Palmer's song lyrics. For those who don't know, Ms. Palmer is the creative genius behind the "Brechtian Punk Cabaret" stylings of the Dresden Dolls. This woman winds word pictures that actually leave me speechless. I love intellect and this woman is definitely the thinking man's songstress. Who doesn't love a woman who in the bridge of a song says "This bridge was written to make you feel smittener with my sad image of girl getting bitterer." I am lusting for her wordplay.
Oh well, I guess it's time to figure out where the wrapping paper is and play Santa. I despise the commercialization of Christmas, but still get a huge rush out of giving people cool shit.

Congrats on the good grades!
