In other news, a friend of mine, who happens to be one of the most amazingly talented visual artsits I have ever seen (and also has shot for this site, or at least for at least one local SG that I am aware of) sent me an SMS this morning whilst I was at a terribly dull and redundant meeting. It said that after I get back from Sydney she wants to do a shoot with me.
"Lots of crazy makeup and insanity!" to quote her.
This is going to be so much fun! Not only do I enjoy dressing up and wearing crazy makeup (i don't get the opportunity to do it nearly often enough, but I blame people sucking for that) but I KNOW that whatever happens she will come up with a really interesting series of images.
I want to try and evoke the essence that is me in the shoot. Not become something or someone else, but strip away all the environmental and personal layers that bury the real me.
Not many people bother to try to get to know that person.
Also, does anyone know how much it costs to change one's name here in Australia? I want to alter the spelling of my name from the Westernised spelling back to the traditional Gaeilge. I think almost 30 years of people mispronouncing my name is more than enough. Plus, I like the idea of having a two-word first name with crazy inflection marks
And this song is really beautiful.
