I am looking out my living room window right now at the crashing, low tide waves. I can see the frothy whites about 100 yards out before the breaker slows them down before they land on the beach. It's cold today, around 33º F yet the seagulls still play. The water has built huge mounds of rocks, not all just pebbles, but bigger, some softball sized ones, that just lay on the beach blocking the sand. One day they will be ground down too, perhaps in 100 years it will have crept up to where my living room stands now.
In fact i think the tide is starting to come back in. the water is hitting the huge rocks that form the breaker and jetty with enough force to send itself 30 feet or so into the frigid air. there is a;most a constant hum of it rolling into the shore.
I was watching Louis CK's newest show, the 3rd episode. it's got that typical dark humor he possesses. long monologues that you have to pay attention to and see where he is actually going. Just the way life is...
