Gods! Finally... today was my last Old Icelandic class (for this semester, anyway). No more headache - yay.

Unfortunately, that also means I won't see that cute little girl anymore (I could have sworn she's a sucide girl!).

heilsa,
Tim

Damn, two of my favourite girls have left the site (and I didn't even know about Dia leaving). Makes one think about leaving, too... I guess I will, one of these days, anyway (gotta save some money).
And I didn't even save their pictures to disk... grrr...

See ya!

I'm having strange dreams recently. Scares me a bit, I'm not usually the type to dream anything but a confused melange of the day's impressions.

The other night I dreamed a complete classical ghost story. Wonder where I got the idea - haven't been reading that kind of stuff for ages.

But that one wasn't so scary. Last night, though, I had the most unsettling...

was forderte Sie auf, mich als Liebling hinzuzufgen? I want to know about this Troth organization.

(truth is I don't really know how to create such complex german phrases and I used a translator, but I can say things like: "ich spreche ein bischen Deutsch" haha!)

Here are two beautiful pictures of witches from a cathedral in Northern Germany, 13th century (scroll down to bottom of page):

http://homepage.schleswig-holstein.de/eldaring/Bilder.html

The one riding the cat is most probably Germanic love goddess Freya.

Oh, and if want to see the goddess in the flesh, just click on "GIRLS" on that menu bar and have your pick! *g*

Ad astra,

I had to read about them in an American book. Although I've always lived no more than 25 miles away from Schleswig, I never visited the Dom. Not even when my ex-girlfried lived in Schleswig for three years.

Sure, but it's worth a visit while you're there. Actually, the Gottorf museum with the bog corpses and the Nydam boat is at least as good as Haithabu itself.

That is a workable theory anyway. And one that, as a heathen, I like a lot, of course. smile

The truth is, we don't know. At least I haven't yet been able to find out anything.

Yeah, those were from Icelandic. The viking traders had to deal with heathens as well as Christians.

I've just finished reading Tad Williams' "Otherland" tetralogy. Wow. What a monster: 3920 pages. I took me some time - but it's definitely the best work of SciFi I have read for ages.

"Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair..."

Did I ever say I was going to become a writer? Gods, I should think twice about that. I never even get to finish...

"The White Rabbit put on his spectacles. 'Where shall I begin, please your Majesty?' he asked.
'Begin at the beginning,' the King said, very gravely, 'and go on till you come to the end: then stop.' ..."

I guess I'll have to start this journal somewhere. So there.

Most writers will agree - the beginning is the most difficult part of any story. And I'm...

Glad you enjoyed it. Where exactly have you been?
I mean - it's a small country compared to the US, of course. But one thing i love about it is the diversity of landscape and culture we have here. If you've only seen a fraction, you haven't really seen anything. smile And that goes for myself as well, I haven't been around as much as I'd like to...

Best wishes!
