Okay... A new year... but first some Ketchup... I mean catch up.
Ummm... lets just speed to Saturday, okay? Good... *pushes fast forward button*
Saturday:
Went up to Edmonton to spend the new years with some CanWestSg peeps. I first met up with misguided at his work, because he was working that day. Then it was off to his place. Well, I kind of got lost, but not on the way there. I made it to his neighborhood alright, but I couldn't find his place. I passed it like 7 times. But I found it with a little help from guided. I moved my stuff into his house and he got ready for that night's festivities.
We first went for supper at Subway and had a nice chat about things. Then it was off to SubUrbs (if I knew the link I would put it here) for some clubbing fun! But unfortunately, the doors were not open when we arrived. So we went to the lounge that was above the place and watched some Robot Chicken.
So the doors opened and we found the tables the were reserved for us. There were streamers and goofy hats. Then some of the local Edmonton SG members started to show up. There was glass_cat, pearlygirl, Awasis, Calixte, cirdt, mr_dave, carla, and from Calgary danny_g and Michele. It was a great time had there. The music was loud, but I spent most of my time there watching people, which is what I do best. I most enjoyed watching people that were watching people dance. There were some really creepy old men in the audience... . The best part was trying to figure out who were regulars and who were people that just happened to wonder into the place.
The night at the 'disco" ended and I took guided back to his place for some rest.
Sunday:
Well, I woke up early that day and waited a long time to have a shower... Stupid roomates. In the meantime, guided came up with a really great list of things todo that day. Too bad we only did about a third of them.
When we both had our shower, we went to guided parent's place to pick up some supplies. It was a great treat to meet guided's mom. She is such a sweetheart to him, kind of like my mom to me. It was great trying to explain to her how I know guided and the other SG's with out mentioning SG. Luckily, she bought that I was friends with them. I also got to meet guided's grandmother. She was a nice lady too.
Then Guided asked me to help him move a tv. Well, I think the tv outweighed me by about 50lb, and it was so awkward that I had not a hope in hell in carrying it with just guided. Luckily Calixte was there meeting the grandmother and was able to help me weakly ass lift the tv.
With guided's vehicle stocked, we were off to get more supplies in the form of food and alcohol. Which was not a problem. There were many places open.
Well, we finally got back to guided's place and we found carla and mr_dave there with freakpirate showing up shortly after. Great more people to help lift the tv, more importantly, a strong mr_dave. After about an hour of hard manual labour and me being a spotter, the tv was savely in guided's home.
LET THE PARTY BEGIN: For those that missed out....
Well, there was pizza and we ate that quite quickly. We then watched some tv. Then some more peeps started to show up. Like quasievil showed up. YAY! This guy was a great addition to the party.
We watched Adventures in Babysitting (to lazy right now for a link). Awesome movie from the 80s! I think I have seen this movie like 100 times now!
We then decided to play some Halo 2. Were I got my ass handed to me, because most of the time I was looking up to the sky and got confused.
Then to bring in the new year, I watched freakpirate get his face smashed in with a submachince gun.... URL=http://suicidegirls.com/members/FreakPirate/1529375/]Which you can read more about here
Then it was a fun drunked game of Balderdash. Two words sum up the game: chortling cockbag! Among other things like, quasievil falling over in a chair, a paper ball fight between carla and freakpirate and ciniminminmon buns!
Monday:
Well, New year day. The SG brunch didn't happen. People didn't wake up until noon, well, other people. I was up at 10:30. We basically wound down and went are separate ways. I back to the land of the cows.
Well, on the way home I picked me up some games. Like Brain Wave and Childern of Mana for the DS and *bum da da buuuuum* Guitar Hero II! I love that game. Played it all night yesterday!
*********** 2007 Goals *********
I know some people like to call these resolutions but I like goals. Because I plan to achieve these this year!
1) Get a Girlfriend. This might shock some, but I have never had a girlfriend and before this years end I would like to have had at least one girlfriend. Some people say that you can't force love and that you should just sit back wait for it to happen, well at some point you have to observe that sitting there doing nothing gets you nothing. So this year, I want to do this. I also have some sub-goals to do that just go under this:
- have a picnic
- walk with a girl and hold hands
- kiss a girl
- share my bed (it seems mighty empty some time, especially when I only take up half of it)
- spend an entire day with a girl, just her and me
2) Get my sysadmin status at work. This will take some major effort on my part out of work. Mainly because I suck at kicking my own ass todo stuff out of work. I goof off way to much. With the status comes a pay raise and the ability to work from home, which I would only use if I was sick and something needed to be done. So here are the subgoals:
- get a sparc1 station installed with sunOS4 (I have done this already, but need todo it again)
- compile gcc
- compile sendmail and configure it to contact the lead sysadmin at work
- compile newsgroups and configure it to post something on the office
- somewhere in there I will have to set up nfs bind for the system
- lastly do sysadmin work around the office for 6 monthes and be compitant about it
3) Get two more close friends. Over the past year, I have met many people and have made many friends. They all have a level of closeness to me from "Hey, I remembe you from the place." to "I trust you with helping out when something might go wrong." I am looking for more people that I can trust. I want two more of those. Also, I will try to keep those that are close to me now.
4) Go to 10 art events. This was one of the things that I enjoyed last year. I have been to Demonika's show last May and had fun watching that, plus I went to a couple of art events around town. Saw some bands place and all. The only requirement is that I have to pay to watch someone perform. I will mostly go see some bands, but I want to just get out and experience things.
5) Move all of my grandfather's home videos to dvd. This was a project that was brought to be last year, but I have been trying to shurk it off to my bro. Doesn't look like that will be happening, so I will have to do this. It will be fun to watch all the old movies of my family. Then I will try to organize them to make them more coherient.
Well, there you have it readers. My goals. Now I asked but one thing from you; help me achieve these goals. I know there are some that I will only want help when I need it (ie 2, because of requirement reasons, 5, because I might need someone to keep me company while watching the movies, it might be funny for some). Others I know I will need help with from the start (ie goal 1, because I am a complete bonehead when it comes to girls, 3, because I can't let people get close to me unless they want to be, 4 because I will need to know about events that happen around town). You can help be with information, motavation or to physically kicking my ass. I leave your involvement in this up to you. I might be able to help you with one of your goals as a trade off, if you want to handle things that way.
Well, for now readers, have a great year!
