i am down to about 1000 calroies and rugby every other day and resistence the other days- i was told by my other trainer to play down the cardio if i don't want to eat up muscle...

Well...if you only have 12 days, you are not going to eat up that much muscle. You can still do the cardio and the resistance training and do an "Atkins" type diet and shred up a bit.
12 days isn't going to kill you if you MUST rip the excess fat off.

Yeah, I don't think think I will actually be playing sevens, but I will continue to go to practice as summer just to beat me into proper shape for the fall. Especially this spring being my first season, I am a bit out of shape, So hopefully the fall I will be in a lot better shape

Went to the Forged in Ink tattoo convention last night. I ran into a shitload of people that I haven't seen in a long time, plus met a few new friends.
Needless to say I got drunk as hell listening to the Razorbacks...
