So I am going to subject you to one last blog about music.
I was in my car today and Ill Nio came on. I had forgotten about them. Ill Nio is a band from New Jersey. Most of their members are Latino. They combine Latin beats, metal and I guess some rapping. From time to time they have some Spanish lyrics. If you are not familiar check under the spolier.
Anyway, that made me think about American Latino groups. There are so many American Latino acts out there that do not play what you would think is Latin music. There is the amazing Manic Hispanic, the funniest punk band since The Dickies, there is Alejandro Escovedo who blew my mind last year with his two sets at the Newport Folk Festival, Los Lobos, the never uncool Santana and even country music's The Mavericks.
Are there other you can think of? Other's you like?
Join Ritmo!
LMAO...
Anyway, obviously my Marketing degree did not help much!
Short real life update:
Today I did my first presentation to my company's board. It went quite well. Halfway through it Lusyd texted me and I felt my phone vibrate in my suit jacket pocket. I knew it was from her and got a stupid grin on my face. One of the executives later commented that I seemed to be relaxed and happy. Thanks Kitten!
I will do a real blog next time...with less pimping!
I'm not doing anything for Easter either love; I'm pretty much incapable of stringing words together right now let alone anything else. Actually, that's a lie, I just realised I'm going to see Derren Brown live in Southampton tomorrow, so that should be good. The only thing I'm looking forward to right now
Sorry to be such a miserable turd but I know as my friend, you would want the real Em to write you and not the pretend one which I present to almost everyone else at the moment. Ignore me love, it's the meds talking.
I met REM in 2003 - but didn't have a camera with me at the time. They walked out of the Radio 1 studios in London and not one person even approached them or anything. I was pretty upset actually because they all looked so old; one of them even had a walking stick Still, I love them just the same. I didn't realise they had a new CD coming out, I look forward to that now too, providing it's not too maudlin.
You're right to love, there are more and more positives creeping up in my blogs and I'm sure this is just a blip while my body/brain gets used to the pills. At least I know I'm doing everything I can (and then some!) to get myself better.
Much love and happy Sunday to you and the girl too, and all your beasties!
xx
