Acacia Update: Acacia continues to improve. She is off the ventilator. She is now on a B-Pap machine. As I understand it, it is a mask with pressurized oxygen that helps her breath on her own through her trache. She is moving off the ICU. Considering that doctors were saying that she would be there for months this is great news.
Sid's Travel: As you probably know I was in New York City for the past couple days on business. The business part was good. I met a very interesting group of Latin American business men. They were very standoffish until I talked to them in Spanish. You'd think I had been their buddy forever. Turns out one of them lives in the neghborhood I grew up in Colombia. He also attended the same Secondary school, although a few years later. It is a small world!
I had two very interesting encounters. I had the most wide-raging and interesting conversation with a New York cabbie. It was such fun that I have decided to change the name of one of my characters in the novel I am writing to his name. I was looking for a replacement name anyway, as I was using the real name of someone. The other was a conversation I had with an Indian restaurant owner. We were talking about the neighborhood in NYC where I lived when I was a teenager. Recently, he purchased a home there and is happy that Latinos have moved out. Apparently we are bad for home values. I was in a good mood, so I let it go. Getting into a fight with the guy that is serving you food was probably not a good idea.
The highlight of the trip however was last night's visit to The Underground where I met with a group of SG members.
Here I am with my friend BigPoppa99

BigPoppa99 and Jay_Blank

Jay_Blank with the hot bartender (I forgot her name
)

Jay_Blank gets lucky

The beautiful and lovely siamkittie. She makes me purr!

Also not pictured but honored to have met were Vimes, Luna and Stiles. All of them were wonderful. They made me miss living in New York. BigPoppa99 has insisted I apply for the regional NYC group, which I have done, since Boston seems impossible to get into (you have to know the mayor and Brady).
Novel Update: I am well on my way to winning NaNoWriMo. I am no longer sharing the word count. If you really are interested go here and look.
EDIT: Someone texted the shit out of my phone....who was it?
