i don't really understand the grammy awards.

i distinctly remember hearing the 2006 song of the year "sometimes you can't make it on your own" the night i broke up with someone in november 2004. they played it on the oc. there were tears.

and that song "this love" by maroon 5? that was spring 2004!!

why, why?

psst - i totally like "this love"....

Perhaps the nostalgia cycle has become so short that bands are now releasing covers of songs that are only 2 or 3 years old, in some cases the very bands that first recorded them 2-3 years ago. eeek

Hey, lately I've been on a Nirvana kick too. But I play it on my mp3 player and doesn't reflect too much on my last.fm.

here's mine.

edit to say: if you're down with Astrud Gilberto, you might want to check out Bebel Gilberto:

Yeah, Pink Panther never did it for me. Except for the song. I think I knew a guy at college who was the son of Blake Edwards. Anyhow his name was Blake Edwards.

I have not watched that show and only remotely have an idea about what it even is.

Norfolk/Virginia Beach is my hometown. It's definitely a Navy town, but Virginia Beach is a soulless expanse of strip malls, whereas Norfolk has historical areas and culture and all the creative people who've fled the 'burbs. Even to someone wo chooses to live in NY, there's something nice about little pockets of coolness, where there are only so many bars, but they're good, so you know where to find everybody.
