So I'm supposed to be writing about what an incredibly fun night I had. Friends coming up from Carbondale, seeing my old bandmates play, drinking, camaraderie....
But no.
Since my ride bailed on me right when we were supposed to leave for the show, and at that point it was too late to catch a bus or the L, I'll tell you about how I spent the night by myself eating frozen pizza and listening to every Rolling Stones record from 1964 through 1971.
Just disappointed (and a little pissed) because I haven't seen some of the people visiting in almost 2 years, not since I left C'dale. And there were other Carbondale expatriates like me who were going to be there, specifically someone I wanted to talk to about restarting an old band project now that I have new synths and keyboards....Also, my 'ride' was my semi-girlfriend, and she knew how much I wanted to go, and a lot of the people are her friends as well. It's not the first time she's pulled something like this, so I guess I should expect it, but it's still frustrating....
On the bright side, yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting Natalie and StephanieMcGee in the midst of crawling around on the floor and having computers fall on me. They were looking at dirty things on the PCs, so I had to give them a bit of a scare....
If anyone is interested, you can check out the old band project HERE. Stream some songs (God Willing and The Glory Is Gone are my favorites) and be sure to check out the picture of 'me' on the Contacts page...
MiniUpdate 3/18/04: If you have a chance, track down a copy of Onibaba, a twisted little Japanese horror film from 1964. Bizarre, tense, and sexual as hell... Just watched it last night and I still have images of it swirling around in my head....

You're welcome, I'm just glad the link was still working by the time you got to it. I went through a lot of dead ones before I found one that was still up.

no, it's not a rebound. i hung out with all the members (one of them is curiosity. i really clicked with them and had a better time with them in one night than the whole year i was with the other band.
