Hello there SG friends,
As always, a big thanks first of all to those who left supportive comments on the last blog. Your continued support is a constant comfort in these hard times. I thank you all.
Not much to tell since the last blog I'm afraid.
Pain levels were ridiculously high since last weekend, so much so that I didn't make it to work all week. I phoned the doctor and got to speak to a locum, as my doctor was off sick (I always find it ironic when doctors get sick, do they self diagnose or is this unethical?).
Anyway, all the locum could suggest was taking 2 cocodamol at the same time as 2 tramadol, since neither work on their own.
That means I've been taking 14-16 painkillers a day for most of the past week...
On the plus side, the combined cocodamol and tramadol do give an hour or so of pain relief, as long as I could sit down with my feet up. The pain always returned as soon as I started to move around though, and it was so bad that even just standing still I could feel the pain throbbing.
Yesterday I started feeling the pain was more manageable, so I made it to work today, for the first time this week...
As you can guess, there's not been much activity on my part this week, as I've spent most of my time at home with my feet up. I've clocked up a good 12 hours or so on BioShock Infinite though, so that was one good side to being stuck at home all week.
Tomorrow it's Father's Day, so I'll take this chance to wish all the fathers out there a Happy Father's Day!
My dad lives in the Channel Islands, so I'll phone him at some point in the day. I'm treating my stepdad to a family lunch tomorrow, as his son lives in Orkney and his son never takes the time to appreciate his dad on Father's Day, or his birthday for that matter, though funnily enough, he's quick to rush to his dad when he wants something... Families... meh!
So I feel it's down to me to make sure my stepdad knows how much he's appreciated on this special day
Going to watch Man of Steel tomorrow afternoon, can't wait. I haven't been this excited about a movie since Star Trek: Into Darkness, fair enough that was only last month, but it is the season for summer blockbusters after all!
Finally got around to watching Django Unchained tonight, another fantastic movie from Tarantino! Tons of black humour and blood as usual, plus tons of awesome cameo appearances from Tarantino regulars and some nice new cameos too.
Anybody who hasn't seen this movie yet (that really wants to watch it), my advice is this: watch this movie as soon as you can, you won't be disappointed!

Ouch, that sucks you had to miss work. At least all that medication gave you some relief. Hopefully you feel better soon. Take care.

I hope you're feeling better this week. No one should be in so much consistent pain. Thank you for the good luck wishes! I'll find out early next week if I need to go in for a second interview.
