Hi SG family,
As always, thanks for the kind comments on my last blog, you guys are the best!
So, what's been happening with me since the last time?
Saw my GP and she's referred me to the pain clinic and has prescribed more painkillers in the interim. I told her that the Naproxen wasn't having any effect and I'd started taking Cocodamol, as I had some left over from when my back was really sore at the start of the year (it's not my back that's sore now). Cocodamol on it's own eases the pain for about an hour before the pain creeps back. She prescribed more of both painkillers and she's recommended I take the full amount of Cocodamol daily (2 tablets, 4 times a day), and 2 Naproxen daily on top of that, preferably taken at the same time as 2 doses of Cocodamol.
She's also prescribed a different antibiotic for my rosacea acne on my cheek, can't remember what it's called, but I've to take 2 of those a day too.
So I'm now taking 12 tablets a day, it's a wonder I haven't started rattling!
I also told my GP about how the specialist didn't want to operate again and basically did everything they could to talk me into trying other avenues of pain relief. So my GP looked up the letter the specialist sent her and at the bottom of the letter it said:
"Richard will definitely need surgery in the future, it is up to him whether he decides to go through with surgery or not."
I was shocked! Why didn't the specialist tell me that? There was me thinking that surgery wasn't an option, since he didn't want to perform surgery. Now he's saying that I'll need surgery? What the fuck!?!
Hopefully I'll get an appointment with the pain clinic soon and will see if they can offer a nerve block injection. I'm happy to give that a go before considering surgery, as the specialist clearly intends it as a last resort.
Anyway, not much new apart from that, painkillers aren't really doing much apart from easing the pain for about an hour before the pain starts getting worse again until it's time for the next batch of pills.
Was working Saturday and Monday, and was really sore both days.
Had lazy days at home Sunday and today, not been fit for doing much, as pretty much everything makes me sore.
Not looking forward to work tomorrow and Thursday, at least I'm off again on Friday. It turns out that these reduced hours are actually a blessing. Given the amount of pain I'm in, I wouldn't be fit for working a full week...
On a lighter note, Doctor Who was really good on Saturday. There was a great guest appearance from Dougray Scott and there was a monster that looked a bit like something from a Resident Evil game.
Finally got around to watching Get Him to the Greek (we'd had it recorded for a few weeks), it was kinda funny - a great spoof of the music industry. Russell Brand was great, even though he was playing himself (in a sense), and there was a great performance from Sean Combs.
I was considering having a cull on the amount of friends I have here, as I went a bit mad with the friend requests when I started out here. However, I saw that I have 666 friends which is pretty cool, so I'll leave it as it is.

Haha, oddly enough, aging has been something of a major phobia of mine since I can remember... yet for the life of me, I can't actually tell you as to why.
She Sells Sanctuary... awesome song. It was in my second favorite movie ever, Layer Cake. Haha, I remember coming in right as he walks into the door and it closes, showing the title of the movie and thinking "Yea, I don't think I'm going to stick around for this..." But then the next split second, they play that song and I changed my mind 'Well... any movie that plays THIS song can't be all bad." Soooooo glad I stuck around for it, even if I DID miss the beginning.
Speaking of movies... another one with Dougray Scott that wasn't up to his par of excellence, was My Week With Marilyn. In which he played the playwright Arthur Miller. Honestly... the whole movie (Despite being worth at least one watch, I suppose) seemed like it was just some guy bragging about how he banged her. And Michelle Williams? What the shit? I know she's a capable actress, but she was horrible as Marilyn Monroe. Horrible. I don't think the Academy saw the same movie that I did. Then again, Dougray was only in it for all of about five minutes. I imagine that'd be like picking up something heavy with your fingernails... it can't be saved.
