Finally I got off my training wheels at work! I am actually pulling in some money. Not as much as I'd like to, but more than I was before. Which was not at all.
Slowly but surely I am catching up on my debts...
Let's see, any news to report? Hm... not much else has been going on. I've been working almost every night for the past couple weeks! I have become almost totally nocturnal. Since I work from 5ish to 10ish, I usually stay up late after work. I go to bed anywhere from 4 am to 6 am, and then I usually sleep until 2.
At night we've been making trips to white castle which is 45 minutes away from here. Just because. Last night we went to Hollybrook diner which is right around the corner from me. Mostly because gas is so damn expensive lately.
A friend of mine had recently moved to Louisiana. Not new orleans, but still not that far. He recently had to buy a gun for self defense because some of the refugees are going nuts down there. From what he's saying, a lot of people stayed behind with the specific intent of looting and pillaging during the chaos.
So when rescuers came with boats, these scumbags would shoot them, steal their boots, and escape with whatever they could!
On the other hand there are also many people who just couldn't get out in time for whatever reason.
It's such a mess, and it really makes me lose even more faith in mankind. This is the kind of disaster that should bring people together, and instead it is inspiring the worst kind of opportunists to take advantage of other people's kindness. It's disgusting.
Sigh... okay enough misery.
On the bright side of things...
Here's a shout out to AverageGroupie, whom I am taking out for Indian food this thursday. Go say hi to her, she's awesome.
Also in other happy news I like my new job. The people there are actually pretty nice and I get along with them well enough. That's a relief because my last job was full of junkies and assholes.
The only problem now is that the hosts are all loopy high school girls that don't understand how to seat tables in any kind of order. I got double sat so many times last night it was ridiculous! Aargh.
Whoa, look at the time. I have to go get ready now!

Oh yeah, one other bit of news. Right when I started my brand new job, I got a vicious cold! Aches, pains, coughing and phlegm and all. I thought it would keep me from working but I was determined not to let it keep me from making money in my hour of greatest need!
So I kicked its ass! I took echinacea and this Zicam stuff(one of those over the counter remedies) that helped weaken it... and then finished it off with Emergen-C. It's this drink mix that has 1100% of your daily vitamin C and 500% of vitamin B. I've been taking 2 or 3 of those a day and now I feel 99% better.
