Training has begun. I finished my second day today. It's nothing new, really. It seems like a really nice restaurant with a good system. Their kitchen is open; you don't have to even go through doors to get to the customers food, which speeds things up and probably boosts the "trust factor" since everyone sees their food being cooked!
The only problem is that I now have TWO DAYS to learn EVERY SINGLE INGREDIENT in EVERY SINGLE THING on their ENTIRE MENU. Right down to how many shrimp, how many ounces of chicken, whether it has parsley, basil, pine nuts, lemon sauce, and a whole bunch of italian words I can barely pronounce.
Wow.
So I'll be busy studying.
The people there seem nice enough. It's soon to say, but I don't sense a lot of drama there. At least not compared to certain OTHER restaurants I've worked at.
Tonight it's work on the house day. Remember when we were moving in, and I was working full time and then painting till 4 AM afterward? Every day? Well... it's time for the good old days. No painting this time, thank goodness, but lots and lots of cleanup and unpacking. The place still isn't fully settled. I have half-framed posters leaning up against every wall in my room, and my closet is full of boxes.
One final, very important thing. Where did you go, AverageGroupie?
Edit: Never mind, she's back. Yay!

Yeah, I have to know all the ingrediants for OG too, but it's not that hard. I have a book that has everything in it with pics and everything. I didn't actually have to learn it in two days either. Learn the most popular dishes first!!! And, good luck
I hope this one goes well for you.
