I've been thinking about clearing out my friends list. It's something I've never done. With very few exceptions, generally once you are on my friends list you stay there forever unless you take yourself off. I don't even remove the names that are gray or black. Or those that I know are never coming back. Lately though seeing those names seems kind of depressing. Plus there are a few names on there now that aren't really friends anymore. Even if neither side really admits it. Kind of weird to have people on my friends list that I know dislike me. Maybe it would just be better to start fresh. Go back to the days when my list was so short that I could easily keep up with everyone's journals. That might be nice.

I hear ya about the friends list. For me it is depressing to have it over a hundred. Prefer to have quality relationships in life, even online. I simply cannot manage to keep up with more than that in any meaningful way so I tend to keep the friends list below that number.
As far as old friends go, it is sad to see good friends go and stay gray, or to have a special friendship drift and be reminded of that loss everytime you see their little name box on your list. Very sad indeed.
That's funny about the friends list. I'm a lot less active now, but I definitely recall having people who obviously didn't really like me, not only on my list, but actually request me. It's bizzare.
