WOW! Tonight I was spur of the moment asked out by the insanely cute record store girl! I had some other stuff I was gonna do, pretty much at home alone, but she really seemed to want to hang, and ya got to have your priorities, know'msayin'? We'd been emailing a bit lately then last night she emailed with her phone number -- the second time she's given it to me, and said hey, I live 15 blocks away from you, why are you emailing me so much? Come by work, she said in that email, then today in another note she said let's have breakfast together, too.
So -- I went by her work around 8, hung out until 9 then she closed, we rented a movie, and here she demonstrated total class when she chose the depressing as hell film I'd mentioned to her I needed to watch ("Grey Zone" by Tim Blake Nelson who's gonna direct my friend Alan's "Love In Vain" script) even though I said I didn't think it'd be fun to watch it together.
We both really dug the movie even though you know it's depressing as fuck -- it's a Holocaust film. Gotta say though, it's stupendously done, and weirdly, somehow, it's.. shit, that's one subject that's almost impossible to put words to--it's on par with Primo Levi and Anne Frank in terms of being the best holocaust-related art I've ever digested. Yes, VERY weird first date film, but anyway...
Afterwards we sat on the couch and talked and flirted and it was too soon to like *do* anything aside from the "touch" test -- you know the test: oh I'll put my foot right next to her leg touching it and see what she does -- she didn't move away so hooray for the touch test. Anyway, I was really just enjoying hanging out with her, and she's really bright and has a clue, esp. for her age.
That's right -- she's A LOT younger than me! I'm 34 and she's 22. However, she thought I was 28, while I thought she was 26 -- so in terms of our thinking, there's only two year's difference! (Can you tell that I'm a crazy addict yet? LOL) I'm psyched about our breakfast date, and this whole thing totally feels like it's coming out of left field, I'm really having fun.
Meanwhile on Tues. I have a 'date' date with the 32 year old cool artist girl who resembles Molly Ringwald. So, things might be getting more interesting around my house, stay tuned...
Headed to Portland soon to work on the book about the film project with Alan, and to celebrate my younger bro. finally gettin' himself a job! Plus a girl called HIM to ask him out tonight, too! Must be some crazy ass star alignment shit going on!!!

Wow dude you have ALL the luck! Talk about contact crush! *sigh* I need some cute girls to be asking me out instead of pestering all my friends to set me up. *shrug* oh well. Have a BLAST for the rest of us!!

I love it when the 21-23 yr old hotties mistake us for 26-28...they so often mishear my age as 24 when I tell them 34...
